Subject group of Prof. Xin Ye

Team leader:

Prof. Xin Ye obtained his bachelor degree in traffic civil engineering from Tongji University in 2000, and was awarded master and Ph.D. degrees in Transportation Engineering from University of South Florida in 2004 and 2006. During 2007-2011, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Arizona State University and University of Maryland. During 2011-2014, he taught as an assistant professor at Civil Engineering Department of Cal Poly Pomona. For years, he has been dedicated into research on travel behavior analysis and modeling methodology. His major achievements include proposing joint modeling methods for activity and travel decision variables, time allocation behavior and population synthesis algorithm, etc. In 2012, he won Pyke Johnson Award from Transportation Research Board for an outstanding paper in transportation system planning and administration. In 2013, he was selected into the "Thousand-Young-Talent" program by Central Organization Department. Since 2014, he joined Tongji University as a professor in the School of Transportation Engineering.

Research interests

The national working conference on transportation in 2014 identified the importance to deepen the reform comprehensively and accelerate the development of "Four Transportations", i.e. Integrated Transportation, Intelligent Transportation, Green Transportation and Safe Transportation. And it is stressed that "Integrated Transportation" is the core of the four areas. In this context, our subject group will carry out research with focus on synergistic design, operation and management of integrated multimodal transportation system. During the three-year construction period, it is expected to publish at least 6 high-impact papers in leading international journals (e.g. journals in the Q1 district of Web of Science, top journals widely accepted by transportation professionals, SCI/SSCI journals with impact factor more than 2.5). After the construction period, the group will obtain landmark achievements, which are domestically leading and internationally renowned in the field.
