主讲人简介:
Christopher is a real public transit enthusiast and started his career as a tramdriver in 2010. After successfully finishing his studies of traffic and transportation science, he became a PhD-student at the chairs of railway science and traffic flow science at the “Friedrich List” faculty of traffic and transportation science at TU Dresden, and successfully graduated in 2024. His research interests span the topics of railway network capacity, network resilience, multimodal disruption management and AI-based MIP reduction. Additionally, Christopher leads the team for traffic technology at the public transit authority of the city of Leipzig.
主讲内容简介:
As transport systems face increasing demand, climate stress, and operational complexity, enhancing railway network resilience has become a critical component of sustainable mobility planning. This presentation addresses the challenge by advancing analytical methods that not only strengthen railway robustness but also foster multimodal travel between interconnected rail and air networks. We introduce an integrated framework that combines timetable synchronization with a passenger-centered vulnerability assessment, enabling planners to evaluate how disruptions propagate through multimodal itineraries and how coordinated schedules can mitigate their effects. By linking operational performance with resilience modeling, the framework provides quantitative insights into the trade-off between efficiency and robustness in timetable design. Applied to real-world multimodal networks, we gain first insights how to enhance network survivability while maintaining service quality, to support the transition toward more reliable, interconnected, and passenger-focused transport systems.
