主讲人简介:
Piercesare Secchi is Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics at Politecnico di Milano, a member of the MOX Laboratory for Modelling and Scientific Computing, and Head of the PhD Programme in Data Analytics and Decision Science. He previously served as Director of the Department of Mathematics. He earned a degree in Mathematics from the University of Milan in 1988, a doctorate in Methodological Statistics from the University of Trento in 1993, and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Minnesota in 1995. His research covers object-oriented spatial statistics, functional data analysis, complex data classification and data fusion, with applications in transportation, urban studies, energy and health.
主讲内容简介:
Modern transportation systems generate heterogeneous, structured data such as passenger demand curves, spatially distributed mobility signals, dynamic origin–destination matrices and network flows. The lecture first considers what constitutes the basic unit of statistical analysis and how to represent the spatial domain in which observations are located. Object-Oriented Spatial Statistics (O2S2) treats curves, distributions, matrices and networks as statistical objects, using both the geometry of their feature space and the geometry and topology of the spatial domain to characterize variation and spatial dependence. Examples include spatial functional analysis of mobile-phone activity data in Milan, bi-clustering of regional rail passenger demand and crowding curves, and assessment of the effects of bridge closures through dynamic road-network flows. Finally, the lecture describes how heterogeneous transportation data can be fused to construct dynamic OD matrices, and discusses the resulting questions of object geometry, temporal dependence, anomaly detection and statistical learning.
