主讲人简介

          Dr Behzad Ghadimi, received his MSc in geotechnical engineering from Sharif University in Iran in 2008. He won CIPRS scholarship from Curtin University in Australia and he has received his PhD in 2015 under supervision of Prof. Hamid Nikraz. He has worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Curtin from 2015 to 2018. Behzad main interests is sustainable civil engineering technologies. His research field included optimising pavements design, application of recycled materials in the flexible pavements, analysis of glass fibre reinforced polymer, finite element simulation, crack propagation and life cycle assessments. Behzad has joined Prof. Hui Li at Tongji University in March 2018 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

 

主讲内容简介

       Sustainable development in civil engineering:

       Part 1- Advancements of finite element modeling in the pavements design

       Part 2- Investigation on the performance of GFRP composites

Part 1:

        It is generally accepted among pavement engineers that the granular layers in flexible pavement behave in a nonlinear mechanical way. Existing literature documents different constitutive equations to model this nonlinearity. This part compares four well-known constitutive models. The results of ABAQUS simulation in static and dynamic loading is presented.

Part 2:

        This part discusses the effects of various elevated temperature cycles and peaks on the compression behavior of pultruded fiber reinforce polymer (FRP) samples as a means of highlighting the durability and strength of FRP material under conditions designed to replicate considerable environmental duress. Strain-gauges were used to evaluate the trend of local deformation of the samples. Finite element analysis was then used to validate the experimental data also with the specific failure criteria adopted.
