主题：How to Get Published in Scientific Journals

主讲人：杨海

主讲人简介：

Prof. Hai Yang is currently a Chair Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is internationally known as an active scholar in the field of transportation, with more than 190 papers published in SCI/SSCI indexed journals and an H-index citation rate of 38. Most of his publications appeared in leading international journals, such as Transportation Research, Transportation Science and Operations Research. Prof. Yang received a number of national and international awards, including National Natural Science Award bestowed by the State Council of PR China (2011). He was appointed as Chang Jiang Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education of PR China. Prof. Yang is now the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, a top journal in the field of transportation.

主讲内容简介：

Publishing your research results in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential activity of a researcher. It is a direct reflection of the quality of your research work and it allows you to network with other scholars in helping you further refine and develop your research. The goal of this presentation is to provide research postgraduate students or junior researchers with background information on academic publishing, highlight the important steps you need to follow to prepare your manuscript for publication, and offer suggestions about how to work with editors and referees to get published. As an experienced author, reviewer and journal editor, the speaker will also share with the audience on some common issues in research and publications, such as the current trend in journal publishing, journal metrics, publication ethics and responsibility.

In this talk, Dr. Yin will introduce Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, and discuss recent research trends based on papers published in the journal. He will also share his perspective of editing the journal and provide some tips on improving technical writing.
