Biography
Mr. Ye Xiafei was born in June, 1961, as a native of Quzhou, Zhengjiang Province. He presently hold a post of professor, Ph.D supervisor and vice president of School of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University, who is also occupied by the member of the 1st session of Expert Committee of China Association of Metros, Expert Committee of Kunming Metro and Qingdao Rail Transit, and director of Urban Rail Transportation Technical Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, editorial board member of Journal of Urban Rail Transit.

Research interests
Professor Ye has hosted the National 863 Program (the research on the railway location of maglev line), National Key Technology Support Program (interactive analysis of the usage of rail transit and land; the research on the technology standard of high-speed maglev transportation), the specific fund for Doctoral Program of the Ministry of Education (the research on the layout planning and evaluation methods of urban rail transit system), the projects of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai (the theory and application of way the ways to improve the operational efficiency of urban rail transport network; the research on the influence of urban rail transit on the regional economic of Putuo district; the research on the marketization of rail transit strategy; the planning method and application for connecting of the Shanghai rail transit stations), the Fund of Ministry of Railways (the theory and methods on the policy of the reduction of the interest of urban rail transit development), cooperation project of our college and China International Engineering Consulting Company (the research on the strategy of urban rapid rail transit development, the theory on the passenger flow prediction, the research on the methods and application, the research on the appraisal of Tianjin Subway Line 1 Project), the projects sponsored by Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Company the research on the policy of the sustainable development of Shanghai rail transport; Shanghai comprehensive research of urban rail transit network system), the project of Traffic Planning Bureau(the traffic network planning of Zhongshan City ) and so on.
Professor Ye also serves as appointed expert of Subway Expert Committee which awarded by both Kunming Municipal People's Government and Qingdao Municipal People’s Government. He is also the member of Expert Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association, the director of Urban Transport Rail Technical Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, editor for the magazine of urban rail traffic.
Honors & Awards
He got the title of Young Top-notch Science & Technology Talent which awarded by Ministry of Railways (January 2000) and many prizes such as 2nd prize of Shanghai teaching achievement prize(December 2001), first prize of the Sixth Shanghai Research of Decision and Consultation Achievement Award (June 2008), third prize of Outstanding Achievement of Consulting of China International Engineering Consulting Company (2008).

Research interests
Professor Ye has hosted the National 863 Program (the research on the railway location of maglev line), National Key Technology Support Program (interactive analysis of the usage of rail transit and land; the research on the technology standard of high-speed maglev transportation), the specific fund for Doctoral Program of the Ministry of Education (the research on the layout planning and evaluation methods of urban rail transit system), the projects of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai (the theory and application of way the ways to improve the operational efficiency of urban rail transport network; the research on the influence of urban rail transit on the regional economic of Putuo district; the research on the marketization of rail transit strategy; the planning method and application for connecting of the Shanghai rail transit stations), the Fund of Ministry of Railways (the theory and methods on the policy of the reduction of the interest of urban rail transit development), cooperation project of our college and China International Engineering Consulting Company (the research on the strategy of urban rapid rail transit development, the theory on the passenger flow prediction, the research on the methods and application, the research on the appraisal of Tianjin Subway Line 1 Project), the projects sponsored by Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Company the research on the policy of the sustainable development of Shanghai rail transport; Shanghai comprehensive research of urban rail transit network system), the project of Traffic Planning Bureau(the traffic network planning of Zhongshan City ) and so on.
Professor Ye also serves as appointed expert of Subway Expert Committee which awarded by both Kunming Municipal People's Government and Qingdao Municipal People’s Government. He is also the member of Expert Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association, the director of Urban Transport Rail Technical Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, editor for the magazine of urban rail traffic.

He got the title of Young Top-notch Science & Technology Talent which awarded by Ministry of Railways (January 2000) and many prizes such as 2nd prize of Shanghai teaching achievement prize(December 2001), first prize of the Sixth Shanghai Research of Decision and Consultation Achievement Award (June 2008), third prize of Outstanding Achievement of Consulting of China International Engineering Consulting Company (2008).
