Research interests
Professor Zhou’s teaching, research and consulting interests and expertise focus mainly on the design and construction of railway engineering structures and the railway engineering dynamics; He proposed the integrated theory and methodology of railway structure design, implementation and maintenance based on the alignment characteristics, established the computational model of excavation stress release, subway tunne buoyancy calculation and anti-water inrush stabilization, uncovered the basic principle of shield tunnel uplift and settlement, and developed the Urban Rail Transit and Railway Engineering safety control measure under complicated conditions. Meanwhile, Prof. Zhou has been the principal investigator of more than 50 grants of Scientific development plan in areas such as city rail transportation, maglev structure, high-speed railway.
