Dr. Yuan, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Tongji University, earned his Ph.D. degree from Tongji University in 2001. He served as a visiting scholar at Virginia Tech for one year. His research and teaching work have focused on the theory and evaluation methods of civil airport infrastructure design, particularly in the areas of airport pavement evaluation and management, pavement structure behavior theory, high-performance pavement materials, and airport pavement construction technology. He has published over 70 academic papers, including more than 40 indexed by SCI and EI. He has contributed to the compilation of five civil aviation standards, won one second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and received seven provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards. He has led two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, participated in three national research projects, and currently serves as the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Civil Airport Facilities Durability and Safe Operation at Tongji University.
