Professor Weidong Huang, Ph.D., Researcher, Doctoral Supervisor. Senior Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. He has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and four projects at the provincial and ministerial levels. He has filed 28 invention patents, with 11 invention patents granted (7 as the first inventor), and 6 patents are in the substantive examination phase. He received the first prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2008, ranking fourth, and the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2009, ranking sixth. He serves as a reviewer for several SCI journals including Construction and Building Materials, Materials and Design, Transportation Research Record, and Polymer Testing. He is also a reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Tongji University, Journal of Building Materials, and Journal of Southeast University. He is an expert peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 100 papers, with more than 70 indexed by EI and SCI. He authored the monograph "Research and Application of Rubber Asphalt and Its Mixtures."

Research interests
Professor Huang's main research interests lie in road materials and asphalt mixtures, including:
1)Research and development of new asphalt materials, focusing on various special modified asphalt mixtures and asphalt pavements. Current research areas include formulation, processes, properties, and applications of modified asphalt using waste tire rubber powder; modification of asphalt using waste plastics; specialized modified asphalt research for fatigue performance; and specialized modified asphalt research for low-temperature performance.
2)Evaluation and design methods of modified asphalt and mixtures, primarily focusing on the evaluation, design, and application of fatigue performance of asphalt and asphalt mixtures. This includes new methods for asphalt mixture design based on fatigue performance, evaluation and research of low-temperature performance of asphalt and asphalt mixtures, and design of asphalt binders and mixtures based on low-temperature performance.
3) Research on pavement maintenance technologies, including the development, research, and evaluation of various new pavement maintenance materials.
