Ting Fuis an Associate Professor at the College of Transportation Engineering in Tongji University. He worked as a postdoc researcher in University of Waterloo (supervised by Dr. Liping Fu) after receiving his Ph.D. degree at McGill University, Canada, and. His research focuses on Road Safety, Trajectory Mining and Motion Pattern, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Dr. Fu has over 40 journal publications. He has been a member, an exclusive member, and secretary of the Committee on Surrogate Measures of Safety, SAE International, and served as an active member of the Committee on Urban Computing and Spatial Optimization of the World Transport Convention (WTC). He has been the PI and also participated in several key national, and provincial projects in both China and Canada. He is the PI of 2 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Shanghai Sailing Program Fund in 2020.

In recent years, he has published over 60 high-quality papers in international conferences and journals in the field of road traffic safety. Among them, he has authored or co-authored 25 SCI papers, with 14 papers ranking in JCR-Q1. Additionally, he has applied for 21 patents, out of which 11 have been granted. He has served as the chief editor for two monographs, "Highway Operation Safety Management under Data-Driven Approach" (ranked second/third) and "Analysis of Hazardous Driving Behavior Mechanisms" (ranked third/fifth).
Furthermore, he has contributed to the international standard "Concepts, Terms, and Definitions related to Surrogate Measures of Safety" (SAE Standard), and served as the chief editor for one standard publication related to intelligent operation and maintenance data of bridges, islands, and tunnels in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Additionally, he has participated in the compilation of three industry standards issued by the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Public Security, as well as one local standard.
