Lin CongProfessor and Ph.D. Supervisor of the School of Transportation Engineering (Tongji University), the deputy director of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Road Durability and Safety (Ministry of Transport, China). He serves as a member of Pavement Accelerated Testing (APT) Committee of Transportation Research Board (TRB) and is on the editorial board of Journal of Building Materials. Additionally, he once was the Executive Deputy Director of Infrastructure Office at Tongji University.

Prof. Cong’s research primarily focuses on durability and performance enhancement of pavement structures, AI-based intelligent pavement perception, pavement service life maintenance, and full-scale APT pavement experiments. He has conducted extensive studies on AI-based pavement damage identification, Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) on pavement structure evaluation. He has led 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one key international cooperation project from the Ministry of Science and Technology (China), and one key technology project of the Ministry of Transport (China): “Research on Performance Sensing and Improvement Technology for Heavy Traffic Asphalt Pavement Structures”. Additionally, he has spearheaded or participated in over 20 other provincial and ministerial-level research projects. Prof. Cong was the principal investigator for the Science and Technology Support Program project: “Accelerated Loading Experimental Research on the Continuous Steel Box Girder Pavement of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge”. His research outcomes that significantly contributed to the successful implementation of the bridge’s pavement. He has been awarded 1 second prize and 3 third prizes for provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievements, as well as 2 awards from the Shanghai Highway Society for scientific and technological innovation. He has published approximately 80 academic papers, with nearly 30 indexed by SCI and EI.
