Biography
Dr. Xiangdong XU is an Associate Professor in the Department of Traffic Engineering at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. Before joining Tongji University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His general teaching and research interests are basic and applied research in modeling and optimization of transportation systems. His current research covers various aspects of transportation network analysis, including behavioral modeling and network optimization under uncertainty, transportation network equilibrium modeling and algorithm development, uncertainty and reliability analysis of transportation systems, transportation network resiliency analysis, traffic flow estimation and counting location, etc. He has authored or co-authored over 20 refereed international journal papers on the above research topics. Dr. Xu has also served as a reviewer for various refereed international journals and conferences. Currently, he is conducting research with numerous international collaborators, such as Utah State University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Hong Kong, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, University of Cantabria in Spain, etc.
