Nakamura, a prominent figure in the field and the Vice Chairman of the World Society for Transport and Traffic Studies, as well as the President of the Japan Society of Traffic Engineers. Zhu’s and research during this period significantly contributed to the field of traffic control and management.
Following his graduation, Zhu continued his research at Nagoya University as a postdoctoral researcher. His postdoctoral work, which was supported by prestigious grants from the Qatar University Enterprise Fund, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, and the Hitachi Foundation, primarily focused on the development of control algorithms for connected vehicles and safety improvements in autonomous driving.
In 2022, Zhu was selected for the Shanghai Municipal Leading Talent Program (Overseas), an acknowledgment of his exceptional contributions in the field of traffic engineering. This appointment led him to join Tongji University, where he currently focuses on traffic management within connected vehicle environments.
Zhu’s academic contributions are well-recognized in the international arena. He has published 21 papers in significant journals and conferences, with 10 of these featured in top-tier international journals (SCI, SSCI-indexed), including four in Q1 journals. His expertise and insight in the field have been further acknowledged through his participation and accolades in international conferences. Notably, he received one of the five Best Paper Awards at the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS) in 2019, a prestigious recognition awarded once every three years.
