Prof. KANG Jinsong is a doctoral supervisor and professor at Tongji University. Currently, he serves as the Executive Deputy Director of Key Laboratory of Railway Industry of Maglev Technology and the Deputy Director of the Tongji-CRRC Joint Research Center for Innovation. He is a council member of China Power Supply Society, Deputy Director of CPSS Transportation Electrification Committee, Committee member of CPSS Wireless Power Transfer Technology and Device Professional Committee, Committee member of China Electrotechnical Society Electric Control System and Device Professional Committee, Committee member of Chinese Association of Automation—Technical Committee on Electrical Automation, Committee member of China Association of Automation. He is the chief editor of the second edition of the national-level planning textbook "Power Electronics Technology" for general higher education (with sales exceeding 10,000 copies). He has published over 150 academic papers in important industry journals and international conferences and has received authorization for more than ten invention patents.

Research interests
Prof. Kang presided over or assumed as technical director for more than 50 topics and projects. Including “Research on DC/DC 110V Control Power Supply for High speed EMUs” which is the sub-topics of the Key Technologies R&D Project of Railway Ministry during the 9th Five-Year Plan Period “Development of 200km/h high speed EMUs”, “Motor Drive System” which is the sub-topics of National High-tech R&D Program of China during the 10th,11th, and 12th Five-Year Plan Period “Fuel Cell Car”, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Key Projects of Railway Ministry, Education Department, Shanghai City, CRRC, SAIC, and etc. Hegives lectures on specialized basic courses of “Power Electronics Technology” and “Electric Drive Control System” for undergraduates, and specialized courses of “Modern Power Electronics Technology”, “Modern Power Supply Technology” and “New Energy Conversion and Control” for postgraduates.
Honors & Awards
Prof. Kang has won the second prize of Shanghai Technology Invention Award in 2020 (ranked first), the first Science and Technology Progress Youth Award of China Power Supply Society, the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Cao Jianyou Education Award (2021), China Association for Promoting Industry University Research Cooperation Innovation Award (2022).
His students have won the academic Excellent Thesis Award of China power supply society, excellent Master Thesis Award of Tongji University, excellent graduation design/thesis award of Tongji University, SAAI Youth Science and Technology Thesis Award, "United Electronics" Tongji University excellent doctoral student, Tongji University scholarship, etc.
